Data import/export & integrations

Import with a dry run and rollback, then connect SSO, webhooks and the API.

Administrators bring data in with a self-service wizard: templates, validation and a dry run before anything changes, and a rollback for every batch. IT connects single sign-on and SCIM provisioning, registers signed webhooks, and uses the documented REST API. Your data always goes out with you.

Data import wizard with a dry run (narrated)

An administrator imports students from a CSV file: chooses the record type, uploads the file, checks the automatic column mapping, runs the validation dry run, previews and imports, with a rollback available afterwards. Narrated, with captions. Sample data in the demo environment.

Key capabilities

Import and export

  • Templates and OneRoster. Ready-made CSV and XLSX templates for schools, staff, students, guardians, courses, sections, enrolments, timetables, bus routes and stops, the library catalogue and opening balances; OneRoster 1.2 CSV import, by upload or a scheduled HTTPS sync.
  • Dry run and rollback. Validation and a dry run before anything changes, safe re-imports that update instead of duplicating, and a committed batch can be rolled back for 30 days.
  • Exports. CSV, XLSX and per-module exports, with confidential fields masked unless you choose otherwise; a complete export at contract end, followed by certified deletion.

Single sign-on, SCIM and MFA

  • Single sign-on. Microsoft Entra ID, Google Workspace, Okta, Auth0, Ping, Keycloak, any OpenID Connect or SAML 2.0 provider, or Active Directory / LDAP.
  • SCIM 2.0 provisioning. Accounts created and removed automatically from Entra ID or Okta.
  • MFA. Authenticator apps, passkeys, email codes and recovery codes; required for administrators, finance, HR and privacy roles by default.
  • Break-glass administrators. Keep access if the identity provider is down.

API and webhooks

  • REST API. A documented API covering every module, plus single sign-on and SCIM for identity.
  • Outbound webhooks. Register HTTPS endpoints and pick the events each one receives; CampusTip signs every request and retries until it is delivered. Personal data travels only to endpoints you explicitly allow.

India and the United States

India

  • Fit exports from typical school ERPs, including UDISE+ code, board, admission and roll numbers and the optional APAAR ID. Columns that look like Aadhaar numbers are refused.
